How does the “Lucky Waiter” work ?
Using the computer and wireless computer networks, ’’Lucky Waiter’’ automates and speeds up the service in restaurants and bars. This system improves communication between the waiter and the kitchen, and at the same time enables the manager (or owner) to have the insight in any moment in the current state and operation in the restaurant, as well as all the previous states.
The waiter still uses the pencil by one touch he adds "furniture" or "kebab" to the order. Bartender/chef calls "READY" with one screen touch. The guest always gets what they ordered. The manager observes everything from one place, and the owner...
The owner is not in the restaurant at all, but he sees and monitors EVERYTHING on his mobile device!
Practically, this assumes the following three steps:
- On his PDA (pocket computer), using the pencil, the waiter types in the order which automatically appears on the monitor in the kitchen/bar.
- After the order is ready, the bartender/chef sends notification to the waiter that the order is ready by pressing the READY button, and the waiter can take it over and bring it to the guests (or the waiter is being informed about some other status of the order).
- After completed service, via his PDA the waiter sends the (fiscal) bill to be printed.
